  • Strong interpersonal skills, and an understanding that recording requires teamwork; so fostering a connection with the artist is essential to making them feel comfortable which allows creativity to flow, and the best product to develop.

  • Formal education and practical knowledge of signal-flow and grain structuring in both analog and digital realms, as well as routing and effects processing.

  • Knowledge of microphone choice and placement in situations ranging from the music studio and live music performances to boom mic operation and wireless mic placement for on-location video productions.

  • Extensive hands-on use with Lectrosonics and Sennheiser wireless microphone systems in the field and boom mic operation.

  • Experienced with using both outboard gear and plugin emulations from Waves, Slate Digital, and FabFilter among others.

  • Versed in recording, editing, and mixing using professional DAW platforms such as Pro Tools, Logic, and Cubase on both PC and OSX operating systems.

  • Experienced with both digital and analog consoles in regards to their operation, function, layout, and maintenance.

  • Core knowledge of acoustic science, functionality, and interaction design concepts and applications.

  • Ability to think logically and analytically for quick practical problem solving in music studio and live music performance situations to on-location video productions.

  • Willingness and aptitude to learn new concepts, procedures, and to take on assignments that will stretch my abilities into new areas of growth and development.

  • Classically trained tuba player from Hayes School of Music on the campus of Appalachian State University

DigiTrax Entertainment Studios

  • Mixing and Mastering a majority of the companies’ releases to match the style, sound, and production quality of original tracks we are emulating in the reproduction.

  • Set-up sessions and record vocals, guitars, drums, keyboards etc and then edit the takes to create the final compilation of tracks before moving into the mixing stage.

  • Handle all administrative duties of the studio and productions happening within by

                   o Delegating tasks between myself, the second engineer, musicians, and the interns to complete professional quality

                      productions on time.
                   o Organizing and communicating with outside producers and musicians as to who will get which tracks, and what

                      songs can be produced in-house.
                   o Manage outsourced productions by insuring their tracks get turned into me on the deadline I set.
                   o Sign-off and approve outsourced productions and work with the accounting staff on their invoices to insure proper

                      and timely payments.
                   o Control and manage studio up-keep and inventory.

  • Work with outside clients on their productions, and ensure their total satisfaction with their experience and recording.

  • Interview/screen all potential interns through phone calls and email correspondences.

                  o Manage interns as to their duties for the day and answer any questions they might have.

  • Create and respond to emails regarding productions or general business.

  • Fulfill whatever tasks are necessary to insure the integrity of DigiTrax Entertainment Studios and its products.
